My Yoga Journey

I began my career as a professional dancer in 1995 and quickly discovered that attending Yoga classes helped me physically and mentally in such a demanding profession. At the time, Yoga was not part of the morning training routine in dance companies so I went to various classes in London, whenever I could.

A friend suggested that I try a retreat at Yoga Plus in Crete, where I was introduced to Ashtanga Yoga. After Greece, I went to study in India at the Sivananda Ashram, Kerala and qualified as a teacher. This was a rich, immersive experience of ashram life, meditation, yoga asana and philosophy that was life-changing. Over the years, I have been fortunate to study with many incredible teachers from the Iyengar, Forrest and Vinyasa traditions.

Since 2005, I have taught for several studios, dance companies and conservatoires, sharing Yoga with people from all walks of life. At London Contemporary Dance School, I developed a popular MA module - Yoga for Dancers and many of those students have gone on to pursue teacher training as part of their freelance careers as dancers.

My yoga retreats in Spain, Greece, Italy and the UK provide an immersive experience of Yoga that leave people feeling both relaxed and re-energised. We take a deeper dive into Yoga, and people leave with new skills, knowledge and friendships for life.
